Montpelier - Work is done till Monday. In a big transition there, challenging, inspiring, and frightening. A break will be good, but need to use this break to be focused and effective Monday morning, January 3rd.

Pearl is bringing a camera. Pearl and I have a tradition of spending New Year's Eve together. For the first time, we are spending New Year's Eve outside Montpelier, Vermont. Montpelier has a great 1st Night, but honestly, it is cold. Beating about Mom's warm house in Haddam, which seems like the south to me, will be cozy, warm, and bright. Sad fact to mention, but fact is, this will be only about 4th time that my children have all been together at one time, especially for a holiday.

The moment has been sinking in all week, and now is palpable.

Putting Work Into Perspective
For the past month, I have been increasingly absorbed by work on Route66MC.com.

Sam starts Sunday surveying Route 66 for the site. Route66MC.com will be the most comprehensive motorcycle oriented guide to Route 66 on the internet, covering all the towns from Chicago to Santa Monica. login required before public launch. My job at this point is to give Sam a systematic, efficient means for stuffing data from the road into the website, then turning that data around, presenting it for travelers to find interesting and understandable.
