Working Together By Linda Fuglestad

Working together, each of us can make a small difference in where we are in Vermont, but when we join together, that small difference can really have an impact on this lovely state that we live in and make waves that ripple out to have lasting positive effects on our environment!
As an example, where I work, I compost the brown paper towels from the washrooms in our education program. Less goes in the landfills and it turns back into healthy dirt I can use in my garden. Now mind you, this is unbleached brown paper towels, which I highly advocate the use of, instead of those bleached white ones that then leech bleach into the ground so are not as healthy to compost.
For those of you who want to go even greener, use cloth towels in your washrooms and take turns taking them home to wash maybe? I keep one in my car for snacking on the way to work and one towel probably replaces several napkins in a week and it makes my little contribution to saving trees and landfill waste!
I love working with children and families and have a big family of my own! I love working at RCPCC, because we help strengthen families and nurture children. When I have spare time from working on my M.A. in Cinical Mental Health Counseling, I like to walk, garden and spend time with my girls and my grandbabies!Mission II Ranking
